Dr. Sanju Jose, DDS

After graduating from Parkville High School in Baltimore County, Dr. Sanju Jose attended University of Maryland Baltimore County, majoring in Biology. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Prior to committing to the specialty of periodontics, he completed a general practice residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where he was exposed to a variety of patient populations and cases in the background of a Level 1 Trauma Center. From there, he went on to complete his post-graduate training in periodontics and dental implants at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, one of the leading research universities in the United States. While there, Dr. Jose dedicated part of his time to research, working with various bone grafting materials to help in regeneration.

University of Pittsburgh is one of the few dental schools in the country that have an ADA accredited dental anesthesiology program, and during his time there, Dr. Jose received training in the administration of IV sedation under the mentorship of the dental anesthesiology department. He also became especially skillful in treating patients that needed full-mouth rehabilitation using dental implants. Dr. Jose believes in continuing education and offering his patients the most advanced evidence-based treatment options. With this in mind, he has taken additional courses to become well-versed in computer-guided surgery, immediate implant placement with immediate temporaries, Chao Pinhole Technique, minimally invasive bone grafting techniques, and socket shield/partial extraction therapies.

Dr. Jose comes back home to Columbia, Maryland after working in Virginia for a year. He is active in dental associations and has served as a delegate for the Virginia Dental Association House of Delegates. Additionally, he participates in several study clubs including the Spear Study Club. He is happily married to his wife, Belda, since 2014, and they recently welcomed their first child. In his free time outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball and traveling with his family.

What Others Are Saying

Mike C

Excellent facility and care for getting an implant. The staff is very courteous. The procedure rooms are private and separated by glass doors and walls. I would definitely recommend this place if you need a dental implant. My only criticism is that the chairs in the waiting room aren't the most comfortable.

Bonnie Close

A few months ago I had bone grafting and 2 implants done at the Columbia Center for Implants @ the Town Center location. Walking through the double doors into a bright spacious waiting room, you are greeted by the organized front desk staff who are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Dr Jose's high standards and expertise show in his work. He is also very caring asking if you are ok through the whole procedure making sure you are comfortable. Dr Jose and is entire team are very knowledgeable and show great professionalism. I highly recommend Dr Jose for dental Implants and related services. You'll be very happy you did. Thank you Dr Jose and team!

Angel Jackson

They are incredibly patient and takes the time to explain every step of the process, making sure I’m comfortable throughout. The staff is always so kind and accommodating, and they really go above and beyond to be flexible with scheduling and making sure my needs are met. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else for dental care—highly recommend!"

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

You probably have more questions than answers at this point. Check out the answers to these commonly-asked questions for a little more reassurance.

1. Are dental implants painful?

Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. During treatment, the area is completely numbed, and many patients report less discomfort than they expected. After the procedure, mild soreness and swelling are normal and can typically be managed with medication and post-operative care instructions.

2. How long does the dental implant process take?

The timeline varies depending on your specific needs. Some patients can receive implants and temporary teeth in a single visit, while others may require several months for healing before their final restoration is placed. During your consultation, we'll create a personalized treatment timeline.

3. Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Many adults with missing teeth are good candidates for dental implants. Factors such as overall health, gum health, and jawbone density play a role. Even if you've been told you don't qualify in the past, advancements in implant dentistry may provide options that weren't previously available.

4. How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental implants can last for many years and often decades. Because implants are designed to function like natural tooth roots, they are one of the most durable tooth replacement options available.

5. Will my dental implants look natural?

Yes. Dental implants are designed to closely match the appearance of your natural teeth. Your custom restoration will be crafted to blend with your smile, helping you achieve a natural-looking result that feels secure and comfortable.

6. Can I eat normally with dental implants?

One of the biggest benefits of dental implants is the ability to enjoy many of the foods you may have been avoiding. Once your treatment is complete and healing has occurred, implants provide a strong, stable foundation that allows you to chew and eat with confidence.

7. What if I've been wearing dentures for years?

Many long-term denture wearers successfully transition to implant-supported solutions. Dental implants can help eliminate common denture frustrations such as slipping, movement, and the need for adhesives while providing greater stability and comfort.

8. How much do dental implants cost?

The cost of treatment depends on factors such as the number of implants needed, the condition of your oral health, and the type of restoration recommended. During your consultation, we'll review your options and discuss financing solutions that may help make treatment more affordable.
